Program Description
Jireh Prep is a Post Graduate college prep football program that provides many student athletes a second chance at achieving their dreams of becoming a collegiate student athlete. While enrolled at Jireh Prep, student athletes are pushed to build stronger academic qualifications while testing their athleticism to the limits. Each participant will build lifelong friendships while experiencing real life situations that will enhance the student athlete’s character to become a productive citizen in today’s society. The staff’s dedication has created a strong winning heritage. We aren’t only out to win, but strive to produce teamwork and dedication to our mission. Our staff brings over 40 years of experience in building stronger academic and physical qualifications in student athletes.
Our program creates an environment very similar to a student athlete’s life at a collegiate athletic program. Our living quarters resembles that of a dorm life style. Our challenging distant learning curriculum is SACS accredited, with NCAA approved core classes. Each student athlete will be enrolled in an intense SAT prep course leading up to actual test dates.
Everyone gets a equal opportunity to gain valuable game time. This creates competition among the team, keeping everyone at maximum performance levels. We compete on a collegiate level, as games are officiated in accordance with NCAA rules. We compete against Division II & III junior varsity programs, independent post graduate programs, as well as military post graduate programs in the southeast.
While attending Jireh Prep it is possible to preserve the student athletes NCAA five year eligibility. After successfully completing the fall semester you will be able to enroll at your chosen institution for the spring semester. Allowing those who obtain an athletic scholarship to be available for spring training.
Education
Online Core Classes
Our academic partner is SACS accredited and offers over 50 NCAA approved core classes. Each participate will be enrolled in two core classes. We recommend a Math and English to help with the SAT testing areas. But, the academic needs of each student will differ depending on the student’s high school transcripts and could require additional classes beyond the two provided in our tuition. Once the final high school transcripts have been reviewed by the admissions department, the student and a Jireh Prep administrator will select the best core courses available. These classes will be offered at our team operations facility. A wireless internet connection will be provided. Each student is required to possess a laptop with WIFI capabilities while enrolled at Jireh Prep.
SAT Prep Class
The SAT Prep class included in the tuition is a face to face class taught by a professional instructor for 8 weeks at our team operations facility. Our professional instructor will teach testing strategies to build confidence in the student’s test taking abilities. All books and study guides will also be provided. Each student will receive weekly exercises while receiving a minimum of 3 practice exams leading up to the actual test date.
Junior College (Optional) This option COULD cost student athletes eligibility!!!!
Our community college of choice is Central Piedmont Community College. Each college student is required to familiarize themselves with the resources available on campus. Those college campus resources include; the student success center, library services, student advisers, and counselors, etc. CPCC will assist in the transition to the next educational level on a smaller scale. CPCC offers FINANCIAL AID, academic advisers, computer labs, and an exceptional library. Each student has access to the internet via the library as well as WIFI capabilities throughout the campus.
The student will have to take a placement test in order to register. Successful test scores will result in level 100 transferable college classes. Unsuccessful scores will result in developmental courses that will not transfer, but does offer an excellent opportunity to strengthen any learning deficiencies.
For those who don’t graduate, CPCC provides an opportunity to obtain a GED. Our staff will work with each student athlete to assist with accurate class registration. We recommend that all student athletes consult with their high school guidance counselor before attending to ensure accurate information is available on your transcripts.
Apartments
The tuition will include a three bedroom, two bath apartment, and utilities at a nearby apartment complex. Utilities include power, water, sewer, and trash fees. Most all apartments will be three bedrooms that will house six student athletes. Occasionally, a two bedroom unit will house four student
athletes. All apartments provide a refrigerator, stove, and dishwasher only. You are required to furnish the apartment. Due to room sizes twin size beds (inflatable, or not) is the maximum size allowed. Our program monitors the apartments closely by performing nightly curfew checks and daily inspections for cleanliness and damages. There are no female visitors allowed in any apartment leased by Jireh Prep. All apartment complex rules must be followed at all times.
****APARTMENTS ARE NOT FURNISHED****
Transportation
The logistics of our facilities encourage strong scheduling. Each student will be responsible for their own transportation while enrolled at Jireh Prep. There are two vehicle options: Privately owned vehicles or public transportation provided by the Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS). Bicycles are also an accepted form of transportation.
Community Service
Each student could be asked to complete hours of community service as determined by our staff. It will be the student athlete’s responsibility to complete the requested hours. The student athlete will be held accountable for their part and will follow all rules set forth by our program while representing Jireh Prep in the community.
The following are several reasons Jireh Prep could fit your student athletes needs:
1) SAT/ACT scores too low?
2) GPA too low or missing required core classes?
3) An existing Qualifier but needs additional game film on a collegiate level?
4) Physically underdeveloped or need an additional year of maturity?
5) Suffered an injury in high school decreasing your playing time?
6) Not going to Graduate or aging out?
